During the90's, Japanese motorcycle manufacturers were in serious competition in the Superbike sector, and Kawasaki's contribution was the 1052cc, ZZR-1100, a motorcycle that was to remain the fastest production bike for the next five years. Its power, combined with a strong frame and good suspension, made it a popular touring machine. In 2002, it was replaced by the ZZR-1200, which offered better handling. A ZZR-600 also entered the fray.

Please read all instructions before beginning work! These frame sliders are designed to fit specific engine mounts of your 2005 Kawasaki ZX6R 636 Ninja. This kit has separate left and right pieces (left and right while sitting on the bike). It is highly recommended that you refer to your service manual before performing this installation. Some fairing modification is required on the left side.

The dual front brakes have semi-floating 310mm discs, with dual four-piston radial mounted calipers. The rear brakes have a single 220mm disc with a single-piston aluminum caliper. The chassis is a twin-spar frame that has been re-designed to make it stronger around the swingarm pivot, and the swingarm has been re-designed with a top-mounted stabilizer to improve stability at high speeds.

The Z1000 is definitely more sportbike-oriented than the Ninja 1000. That said, it still offers a surprisingly upright riding position that would certainly be comfortable for day rides with the guys, though perhaps not for long days on the highway. The fairing is even smaller than the one on the Ninja 1000 and did very little to block the wind blast.
